Where the venue actually is
Hoi An Memories Land occupies Cồn Hến, an island in the Thu Bồn river immediately south-east of Hoi An's Ancient Town. It is much closer than most visitors assume — this is not an excursion out of town, it is a short hop across a bridge. Note that addresses published for the venue vary: the operator lists 88 Trần Quang Khải, other official pages give 200 Nguyễn Tri Phương, and the boat pier is cited at 159 Trần Quang Khải. All refer to the same island complex from different approaches. Use the exact address printed on your ticket, which is what verified visitors report doing successfully.
From the Ancient Town, walking is genuinely viable
From the Old Town you can walk. The shortest routes are along Trần Quang Khải or Huyền Trân Công Chúa street, and the whole way is flat. In practice this is twenty to thirty minutes depending on where in the Old Town you start. Going out at around 16:30 in daylight is pleasant; walking back at 21:15 is a different proposition, with sections that are poorly lit and a lot of scooter traffic on narrow shoulders. A sensible pattern is to walk out and take a car back. If you are with children or anyone unsteady on their feet, take a car both ways.
By car, scooter and ride-hailing
The standard route by road runs from the Old Town along Hoàng Diệu, over the Cẩm Nam bridge, and onto the island — around ten minutes. Grab works reliably in Hoi An and is the default for most visitors; a verified reviewer confirmed taking one in each direction without difficulty. If you are riding a scooter, parking near the main entrance is free of charge, while parking at the Moonlight Bridge carries a small fee of roughly 5,000 to 10,000 VND per bike. Given the show finishes at 21:00 and the roads are dark, a car is the lower-stress choice for the return leg.
Coming from Da Nang
Da Nang city centre is roughly 30 kilometres away, about an hour by road, which makes this a committed evening rather than a casual add-on. A booked shuttle service runs the route, departing Da Nang at 16:30 from Rơm coffee at 368 Võ Nguyên Giáp in Ngũ Hành Sơn, dropping at 88 Trần Quang Khải near the Moonlight Bridge, and returning from the same point at 21:15. That timing gets you to the park shortly after gates open and back to Da Nang around 22:15. A private car costs more but removes the fixed 21:15 return and the sprint from the theatre exit.
The boat question
Several guides describe a free boat from a pier on Trần Quang Khải, said to run from mid-afternoon with a five-to-ten minute crossing. Others describe a paid tourist boat from Lantern Park near the Cẩm Nam bridge at around 120,000 VND return, picking up at 17:30 and dropping back at 21:30. These are probably two different services, and the details conflict enough that we will not state either as fact. If arriving by water appeals, ask your accommodation to confirm on the day. Do not build your evening around a boat you have not verified is running.
